40 Ounce Density
100% recycled jute is needle punched and compressed into a 3/8 of an inch thickness to create a pad dense enough to protect your rug and floor, yet soft enough to add an extra comfort under foot. The top side provides a slightly stiffer foundation to protect area rugs and the bottom is softer to protect all floors. This pad is environmentally friendly and is CRI Green Label for air quality without chemicals or glues that can out-gas.
The Result
Superior is a rug pad that prolongs the life of your rug by adding a dense barrier between your rug and the hard floor, protecting the back of your rug. It also protects your floors from scratches and any possible furniture indentations. Superior has also been rated as an excellent noise reduction rug pad.

Optimal Uses
Use Superior with any new and antique area rug where sliding is not an issue. This rug pad prevents premature wear to rugs and floors, adds comfort for daily use and provides excellent sound insulation where necessary. Superior is excellent for covering any uneveness in floors as well as grout lines in tile. Note: If your rugs have a slipping problem, try our Ultra Premium or Super Hold instead.

I was looking for this kind of pad for a new project in the lobby area and it was a great decision to use this pad under a custom made area rug from Tufenkian, which is placed on a newly finished hardwood floor. I wanted a pad that would not scratch the finish on the floor, but would add loft and durability to the carpet. The rug pad worked out perfectly. I have been looking for a good hardwood floor pad for our "BIG" oriental carpets. This one is perfect for the rug in our living room. I will need to order another that is less than 1/4 " thick for the carpet by the front door. Will shop at the same seller because they sold me exactly what they advertised and the price is right and the most important the pad fits my rug!"

Very high quality rug pad. Used it over a slate floor, slightly irregular surface. Atop it I have a hand-made heavy wool rug. It adds to the warmth of the rug and pads it as well. Smooths out the surface irregularities and will add to the life of the rug. Pleased with the product and the fast delivery.
